Pope Francis calls for peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan

In his annual “State of the World” address to members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See on Monday, Pope Francis reflected on the conflicts and divisions ravaging the world and highlighted the responsibility of individuals and nations to foster peace, Vatican News reported.
He expressed concern about the situation in the South Caucasus and called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to reach a peace deal.
Francis also stressed the need to respect the right of displaced persons to return home, as well as places of worship.
The Pope also called for a negotiated end to the conflict in Ukraine.
