Iran warned of serious consequences in the event of a strike on its nuclear facilities

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of catastrophic consequences for the region if the opponents of the Islamic Republic decide to strike its nuclear facilities.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, he emphasized that such a move would be one of the biggest mistakes in history. "The Americans and Israelis clearly understand the targets we would strike in response. In the case of an attack, we would be on the brink of a full-scale war," Araghchi stated, stressing that no one in the region, nor beyond, wants escalation. He added that while Iran does not currently possess nuclear weapons, the country has all the capabilities to develop them.
Speaking about potential negotiations with the U.S., the minister noted that Iran sees no reason for direct talks with President Donald Trump. However, he stated that if Washington begins the process of unlocking Iranian assets, it could be the first step toward rebuilding trust between the two countries.
Earlier, Trump stated that he would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, considering it a global security threat.
