Turkey refuses to detain Russian ship at request of Ukraine

The ship "Zhibek Zholy" under the Russian flag has left the parking lot near the Black Sea port of Karasu in Turkey, TASS reports citing a source in Ankara.
"On Thursday morning, the cargo ship left the port area", the source said.
There is no official confirmation of this information, the country's authorities did not comment on the situation with the vessel.
The cargo ship's crew member had previously reported that the ship would leave the port roadsted due to downtime. "There are no problems as such, but the ship is standing. In order not to lose money, it is planned to leave the anchorage", he said.
Alexey Zaitsev, Deputy head of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said earlier that the cargo ship "Zhibek Zholy" is undergoing standard procedures in the roadstead of the port of Karasu, it's nothing to do with the detention or arrest.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian ambassador to Turkey, Vasily Bodnar, said that Turkish customs officers, at the request of Kiev, detained a cargo ship under theRussia flag, which allegedly transports grain belonging to Ukraine.
Yashar Niyazbaev, editor-in-chief of MK Turkey, founder of the telegram channel Turkish Agenda, noted in an interview with a Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent that the Zhibek Zholy incident is extremely sensitive for Turkey.
"There are no official statements on this cargo ship yet, and it is quite possible that there will not be any. This is a very sensitive topic, because Turkey doesn't not want to ruin relations either with Ukraine, or especially with Russia, so the Turkish authorities preferred to ignore this topic if possible. As we know, the information was not disclosed for a long time, and only from foreign sources, including TASS sources, we know that the ship eventually left Turkish waters", he said.
"Such a solution to the situation was the decision, Ankara was looking for a way out. There were statements that the actual reason for the long stay was weather conditions, allegedly other ships could not sail to the port either. But now the ship has left the port. It may be further reported that a certain quality control has taken place, and the grain hasn't pass this control, so it was not allowed to unload. According to open sources, it is clear that representatives of the Turkish inspection authorities were on board the ship, but it is not known what they checked - maybe the cargo's quality, maybe, sanitary condition", the orientalist noted.
"In my opinion, this could be the easiest way to avoid a topic that is so sensitive for Turkey: to say that something is wrong with the product in terms of quality, as sometimes happens with products, especially with vegetables that go to Russia. Sometimes food cargoes are not allowed into the country because they really do not meet the standards, and sometimes for political reasons not related to the goods quality. Apparently, this opportunity was also used here to get out of a difficult situation", Yashar Niyazbayev concluded.
