PACE Rapporteur will visit Azerbaijan to study humanitarian consequences of the Karabakh conflict

Rapporteur of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Paul Gavan (Ireland) will pay a visit to Azerbaijan from July 26 to 28 to gather information for his report on "The humanitarian consequences of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan", according to the website of the Council of Europe.
Gavan will hold meetings with parliamentarians, including the Speaker of the National Assembly, as well as with representatives of various ministries in charge of humanitarian consequences of the conflict. He will also acquaint with views of displaced persons and meet with a Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan and representatives of civil society.
Note that the visit will enable him to better understand the role and contribution of international organizations engaged in this issue in Azerbaijan, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). As a part of the preparation of this report, Gavan visited Armenia in May.
