Head of the OSCE observer mission on the voting process in Azerbaijan

358 observers from 41 countries are observing early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, special coordinator of the OSCE short-term mission Arthur Gerasimov said at a briefing in Baku, according to Turan.
“Our observation mission was invited by the Azerbaijani government as part of its commitments to the OSCE,” he said and added that before the election day the mission’s members examined the situation in the country.
“We have enough information about the election. Today, hundreds of our observers, members of the international observation mission, are located in Baku, Ganja, Sumgait and other regions. Having completed the observations, we will hold a press conference tomorrow, where we will present our conclusions,” he added.
When asked about the non-admission of candidate Bakhtiyar Hajiyev to the station, Gerasimov replied that he did not have such information. At the same time, he noted that if observers record such a violation, it would be reflected in the report.
