Georgian FM on new parliament’s 1st resolution on foreign policy :’it’s a clear message to all our partners’

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani has responded to the first resolution adopted by the new parliament of Georgia which concerns the country’s foreign policy priorities, stating that the adoption of the resolution is a ‘clear message to all our partners on Georgia’s key priorities and goals.’
The 10th parliament of Georgia has recently adopted a resolution which defines the country’s foreign policy goals for the coming years.
The resolution covers the issues of deoccupation, hybrid threats coming from Russia, international disputes against Russia, Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, relations with partner states and others.
The first resolution of the new parliament concerning the country’s foreign relations is in the full line with Georgia’s foreign policy strategic course. The resolution is a very clear message to our partners on Georgia’s foreign policy goals and reaffirms that Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration is irreversible,” Zalkaliani has stated.
He said that the consolidated actions of executive and legislative bodies of Georgia, as well as the civil sector and other political forces inside the country are crucial to achieve the foreign goals.
All pro-western political parties should stand together to achieve the goals,” Zalkaliani said.
He stated that the Foreign Ministry will use the resolution ‘as a kind of a guideline’ and will have its action plans for each of the priority directions.
Of course, a new geopolitical situation in the region should be taken into account. We should react swiftly to new challenges,” Zalkaliani said.
He stated that Georgia should triple its efforts to show its attractiveness and importance to the EU as the country has plans to begin applying for EU membership by 2024.
