French MFA calls on its citizens to immediately leave Belarus

French citizens in Belarus should immediately leave the country in connection with the military conflict in Ukraine. Such an appeal was made by the French Foreign Ministry, reports RBC.
Under the conditions of Russia's armed offensive in Ukraine and the closure of Belarusian airspace, any travel to Belarus is not welcome. The French in Belarus are advised to immediately leave the country by road through the checkpoints on the border with Lithuania, Poland or Latvia, reads the statement of the Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Ministry claims that the borders with Lithuania and Latvia remain open, while the only border crossing point accessible for people heading to Poland is Brest-Terespol.
On February 13, the U.S. also called on its citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia because of the "unpredictable consequences" of the conflict in Ukraine and suggested that those who are in the country should urgently leave it.
