Composer Ashot Zohrabyan dies at 77

Composer and Honored Artist of Armenia Ashot Zohrabyan has passed away at the age of 77, the Composers Union of Armenia reported on Tuesday.
He was an Armenian composer of mostly orchestral, chamber and vocal works that have been performed in Europe and elsewhere.
Zohrabyan studied composition with Grigor Yeghiazaryan at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan from 1967-1972.
He was a longtime professor of composition at the Komitas State Conservatory.
His music has been performed in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the U.S.
