Serdar Berdymukhamedov elected President of Turkmenistan

Serdar Berdymukhamedov, the son of Turkmenistan’s leader has won the Central Asian country’s presidential election, electoral authorities said Tuesday.
Berdymukhamedov, son of President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, was the overwhelming favorite. The central election commission said he won 72.97% of the votes.
A total of 3,362,052 people, 97.17% of eligible voters, cast their votes on March 12.
