U.S. ‘Welcomes’ Azerbaijan's Release of Armenian Detainees

“We welcome Azerbaijan's release of Armenian detainees,” - U.S. State Department tweeted on its European and Eurasian Affairs account on Monday, Feb 7.
“Efforts to facilitate the return of all remaining detainees and fully account for missing persons, including from the 1990s, are critical to lasting peace in the region,” - reads the tweet.
Azerbaijan has released 8 Armenian prisoners in an effort to facilitate fresh talks with France and the EU on Karabakh issue.
